"Our clinical experience teaches us that for a significant number of those diagnosed with a schizophrenic disorder, particularly at the early and acute stages, a period of residential therapeutic care can be of enormous significance by providing a containing, structured and safe environment in which relationships can be developed and reparation take place. Thus, as part of a need-adapted and phase-specific treatment, which is essential to prevent the long-term effects of psychosis, there should always be the option of a residential element in which psychotherapy functions as a turning away from a psychic homelessness towards the possibility of Being-at-home."
