Community Psychologist 

CHT is a leading provider of Developmentally Informed Recovery Communities - 'where relationships are the treatment'.  CHT supports adults with mental health conditions including Personality Disorder, Psychosis, Forensic Histories and Complex Trauma to live more fulfilled lives.

CHT is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Counselling Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist (must be able to provide psychodynamic psychotherapy) to join our dynamic team in Eastbourne.


About the role: 
As a Community Psychologist you will provide clinical direction to a residential community service based on the models of Psychologically Informed Environments and Therapeutic Communities, working closely with the Service Manager to lead, enable and develop a therapeutic environment, facilitating formal reflective practice sessions with the staff team, and providing one-to-one psychodynamic psychotherapy to the community members.


About you:

You will be registered as an Applied Psychologist with the Health Professions Council and have experience of working with people experiencing mental health problems, including psychosis, emotional instability and volatility, addictions and anxiety, depression, self-harm, attachment disorders, suicidality and complex presentations within a psychodynamic framework. 

You will understand and be able to successfully implement the principles of reflective practice within a staff team and be able to present complex personal and psychological information in a clear and intelligible manner.

You will have the resilience to work with clients in crisis and use relational skills to provide a calm and containing environment.

You will be organised and able to communicate clearly around assessments, and support the team to create psychological formulations.

You will be willing to develop in the role and engage with training and supervision, continually striving towards excellence.

Vacancy: Counselling Psychologist 
Location: Mount Lodge, Eastbourne (group supervision will be based in London)
Hours: 16 – 20 hours per week (negotiable)
Salary: £35,000 - £39,000 per annum (pro rata)
Benefits: 25 days’ annual leave (pro rata), pension, life assurance, and employee assistance programme.
