CHT welcome students/trainees who are studying with, or intending to study with, University or Institute-based professional and academic education and training programmes. 


CHT is committed to offering good quality workbased learning to colleagues with a professional or academic interest in the field has offered placements to a wide range of undergraduate, post-graduate and professional learners e.g. mental health nurses, social workers, psychological therapists, and Community Workers.

CHT has a sponsorship licence and can sponsor visas for students from outside the EU.

All training placements offer a context for experiential learning and reflection on that experience. The core of the experience is participation in the life a therapeutic community – made up of staff and clients - engaged in a range of tasks associated with everyday living and in group and individual psychotherapy.

All applicants will have a Disclosure and Disbarring Service (DBS) clearnace certificate prior to commencement and will be assessed against CHT’s criteria and the availability of places.
