Dami Segilola (She/Her)

Senior Therapeutic Practitioner

Therapeutic Recovery Communities

Dami has been with CHT since 2023 and is a Senior Therapeutic Practitioner across two of our Therapeutic Recovery Communities in Southall and Richmond. Her responsibilities include facilitating structured therapeutic groups, working closely with residents on their recovery plans, and supporting them in building the skills and confidence they need for long-term recovery. Dami also helps deliver the therapeutic programme, which provides a safe, supportive environment where residents can explore their experiences, work through trauma, and begin to form healthy, reparative relationships.

What does she enjoy most about her role? Dami finds it incredibly rewarding to be part of a process that empowers people to rebuild their lives and move forward with a renewed sense of purpose and hope. She appreciates the personal and professional growth that the role has afforded her. Dami also values the meaningful relationships she builds with residents and colleagues and the sense of community that naturally develops through shared experiences.

Dami's journey in the mental health sector began with volunteering with teens from challenging backgrounds. She loved being able to offer them support as they navigated trauma, mental health struggles, and the difficulties that arise from feeling that the odds are stacked against them. Those early experiences opened her eyes to the resilience of young people and sparked her interest in trauma-informed care and mental health support.

Before joining CHT, Dami worked in the homelessness sector, where she assisted individuals battling long-term drug and alcohol addiction, often alongside complex mental health issues, in finding a safe place to call home. That role deepened her understanding of how critical mental health support is in times of crisis and building long-term stability.

Working with CHT has allowed Dami to focus on mental health, dive deeper into trauma-informed approaches, and continue her journey of helping people feel seen, heard, and supported. Dami has always been deeply passionate about supporting people with complex needs—she considers it part of her empathetic nature!

In her free time, she loves going for long walks across bridges and staying active, especially if there's a great food spot at the end of it! Dami enjoys exploring new places on foot and is a huge foodie. Whether trying out a new cuisine or hunting down the best local eats, she is always up for a food adventure!
