Iwona Munia (She/Her)

Head of Learning & Development

Iwona has been with CHT for 14 years and works partly from our Training Centre in Richmond and our Central Office in Vauxhall. As the Head of Learning and Development, she oversees our Diploma in Relational Practice in Mental Health programme and our bespoke training program. Iwona is part of our senior management team and is key to developing CHT as a learning organisation.

Iwona's background is in clinical psychology and special education, and she earned her MS in Clinical Psychology and an MA in Special Educational Needs while living in Poland. Before joining CHT, Iwona worked as a teacher for children with special needs and in a secure unit and day centre for adults on the autism spectrum.

Iwona is particularly interested in group work, group analysis, and therapeutic communities, having worked with groups since the 2000s. Since moving to the UK in 2005, Iwona has completed postgraduate diplomas in Psychoanalytic Observational Studies, Psychotherapy for Practitioners in Therapeutic Environments, and Groupwork Practice. She is also a board member of The Consortium of Therapeutic Communities. She hopes to become a Group Analyst and is involved in running Group Relations Conferences.

What does she love most about her role? The creativity and development aspects, the opportunity to connect with service staff, and witnessing their growth is truly amazing!

Iwona is a dog lover, especially fond of dachshunds. She has two dachshunds and has hundreds of photos of them on her phone!
