Sophe joined CHT in January 2023 as a resource worker before transitioning to her current role as Engagement Facilitator in March 2024. In her role, she supports residents and staff across all four of our Therapeutic Recovery Communities, focusing on group activities and community life. For example, if a resident faces challenges in engaging with the community, Sophe collaborates with the community to identify changes that could enhance their experience and make their time at CHT more meaningful. . She is particularly interested in supporting people to have their ideas and experiences heard and brought into shaping a community that feels containing and with space for growth.

Sophe has a strong interest in the therapeutic benefits of nature as a means of healing. Before joining CHT, she coordinated a project that helped people from refugee backgrounds connect with themselves, each other and the natural world in their transition to living in the UK.

What does she like most about her role? Getting to know each person and as an individual, and exploring how each individual, whether they are a resident, support worker, key worker, or someone else, meshes with the community they are a part of, and how developing an understanding of this can help to build quality relationships that support recovery journeys.
