Our approach to recovery
Mental health is influenced by multiple factors, such as a person’s life experiences, environment, and social factors. Instead of solely focusing on someone’s symptoms, our therapeutic approach considers how biological, psychological, and social factors work together to shape mental wellbeing.

Everyone’s path to mental health recovery is different, but our aim is always to help residents build a life that feels meaningful, satisfying, and hopeful.
Our approach is based on the principles of therapeutic and Psychologically Informed Environments (PIEs), with five main pillars that guide our work.
Through engagement in in community life, we help residents build a sense of belonging, and believe that positive change and a fulfilling life are possible.
We help empower residents to maintain their autonomy by making their own choices about their treatment and care, and seting personal goals.
We support residents to develop a sense of safety and containment, helping them to find ways to manage symptoms, stress, and challenges.
We encourage residents to form positive, supportive attachments with family, friends, peers, and professionals.
Through exploration we support residents, discover opportunities, new interests and ways to get involved in work, education, hobbies, and other activities that matter to them.
